Approved by the US FDA, Health Canada and many other countries, Sculptra® is widely used to stimulate deep collagen regeneration in the face with natural, progressive and long-lasting results. Sculptra® injections can effectively repair facial tissue structure, improve wrinkles, sunken temples and cheeks, while restoring a youthful and firm appearance. Sculptra® also stimulates collagen regeneration in the treatment area. Its main ingredient is Poly-L-Lactic Acid (PLLA). PLLA is broken down into lactic acid, carbon dioxide and water, which are then absorbed naturally by the body without residue. The effect can last up to two years after one treatment.
Although both Filler Injection and Sculptra® are functionally fillers, their principles are very different. Hyaluronic acid is used as a physical filler to fill depressions; while Sculptra® stimulates collagen production in the deeper layers of skin while stimulating cellular vitality.
Filler Injection provides immediate post-treatment results, but the maintenance time is short, which requires supplemental injections once every 4-6 months. Sculptra®, on the other hand, is effective when the collagen starts to increase 2 weeks after the injection and the results can be seen gradually. Also, Sculptra® targets the entire face for lifting and firming, which is more realistic in appearance and long-lasting.
Both treatments are effective in wrinkle reduction and take a while to show results after the procedure. Sculptra® takes about 2-3 weeks and Botox®️ takes about 7-10 days.
The principle of Sculptra® is to stimulate the growth of collagen to achieve wrinkle reduction, so it is suitable for fine lines and depressions caused by photoaging while improving the condition of the skin from the deeper level. Botox®️ works by blocking the nerve to muscle transmission to achieve wrinkle reduction. It only relaxes the expression muscle to reduce the generation of fine lines, so it is only suitable for dynamic expression lines.
In terms of maintenance time, the effect of Sculptra® lasts longer.
